Unfortunate news for Cowboys fans surfaced yesterday, as freshman cowboy back Grayson Boomer announced he would enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Boomer, a former 4-star recruit from Collinsville, OK, redshirted this season after suffering a torn ACL without ever seeing game action for the Pokes. Boomer was the highest rated prospect to commit to OSU in the 2019 recruiting class, and was also the first recruit to announce his allegiance to the Cowboys in their most recent haul of players as well.
Prior to his time in Stillwater, Boomer had also received offers from schools like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU, Notre Dame, and Texas, although no word has yet been given as to where the former Cowboy may land. The expected departure of Boomer now leaves Oklahoma State with only four cowboy backs on their current roster, with Dayton Metcalf, Logan Carter, and Jelani Woods appearing in all 12 games for the Pokes this regular season. Schools will be able to contact Boomer immediately, with updates expected in the near future.
